How to set Japanese plane (blade replaceable model)

How to insert the blade

Tap the head of the main blade with a hammer or wooden mallet and insert the blade. Viewed from the backside of the main body (DAI), the blade should come out to the extent of a single hair (about 0.05 mm).

How to retract or pull out the blade

Tap the corner of the body (DAI) to retract the blade. To remove the blade, tap the corner while holding the blade with your finger.

*When the blade does not come out, tap it harder to make sure it comes out.

How to replace the blade

After removing the blade from the body (DAI), take the chip breaker from the blade and replace the blade edge. Attach the chip breaker to the blade again and insert the blade into the body (DAI).

*Replace the blade that matches the size of the plane.
